May 16—This year’s Job Fair goes overseas with the participation of 14 recruitment agencies and 5 Cebu-based companies who pooled in manpower resources for job opportunities here and abroad.
Over 100 CITE alumni and graduating students are interviewed and advised to comply with the needed requirements and take the trade test to process their applications. Two were hired on the spot, according to Industry Coordinator Jun Mercado.
“This (Job Fair) gives an opportunity for the fresh graduates and the alumni who don’t have work yet,” said alumnus Frederick Estrera of Batch 4.
Qualifications are high for job hunters who opt to work abroad. Lemuel Sison of East West Placement Center tells: They (Applicants) should have a working experience of at least 3 years. Our office will also give training.”
The job fair was facilitated by CITE in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-7). CITE alumnus Wendell Lawas commented: “It’s an effortless application. We don’t have to go to the companies. They’re all here.”
DOLE-7 Regional Director Elias Cayanong graced the event with his presence.
