Google Free Zone, a new service launched in the Philippines as the first country in the world to experience free browsing to gmail, google search and google plus to all prepaid subscribers of Globe Telecom and TM.
The service is Google’s effort to bridge the digital divide by enabling the “next billion” to experience the Internet particularly on their mobile phones, according to Derek Callow, head of marketing at Google Southeast Asia. [interaksyon.com]
To access Google services on your mobile phone free of data charges, simply text LIBRE to 8888 for free or visit http://libre.ph on the phone's default browser. Those without Google accounts can sign up for free and create one by following the "Create an account now" link on their mobile phones.
